A new Chevrolet truck has taken the lead as the most fuel-efficient pickup on the road.
The car, the diesel version of the Chevrolet Colorado 2016, nabbed the distinction from Fiat Chrysler’s Ram division, USA Today reported.
Chevrolet, which is owned by General Motors GM , said the new midsize pickup truck gets 31 miles per gallon when driving on a highway. Ram, meanwhile, claims 29 miles per gallon for its most efficient truck, the Ram 1500.
“The Colorado Duramax diesel is in a league of its own,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet’s director for truck marketing, in a statement. “Colorado’s gas models already led the segment in fuel efficiency and the new diesel--which no other non-GM competitor offers on a midsize truck--gives customers even greater freedom to go where they want with fewer fill-ups."
Chevrolet said the vehicle will go on sale this fall.
